Gemini Rising (a 2009 Webby Honoree) recounts the trials and tribulations of a hard-working, semi-successful 1970's progressive rock band from Levittown, Pennsylvania. The series follows brothers Robert and Richard McKenzie as they lead a colorful band of talented troubadours through an epic struggle to realize a unique sonic vision. An odd mixture of folk, rock n’ roll and opera, Gemini Rising’s music is nothing if not wildly ambitious. With a clueless manager, a neglected girlfriend and an ever-growing number of bandmates in need of direction in tow, frontman Robert desperately tries to keep it all together while establishing his own distinct artistic voice within a cultural landscape mostly indifferent to his band’s unusual musical explorations. In true prog fashion, Gemini Rising invoke the higher powers governing time and space in a bold bid for rock immortality.
